REVIT Designer - Structural/Architectural

IFAB Engineering Partners Ltd. is seeking serious applicants to fill the role of REVIT Designer - Structural/Architectural. Work is performed in collaboration with a full complement of designers and engineers from a variety of disciplines. Working with the structural and buildings team, the REVIT Designer will provide architectural design expertise on a variety of projects.

IFAB is Integrated Food and Buildings.  We offer integrated project management for multi-disciplinary building solutions in the fast-paced industrial food sector, including process optimization, project management, and full design and engineering services from original concept to capital investment analysis and then through construction to final building commissioning.  We work across North America with highly recognized food producers.

The position includes, yet is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Working with our structural/architectural engineering teams to develop and generate 3-dimensional computer models and 2-dimensional drawings of commercial and industrial structures;
  • Preparing design drawings, plans, sections, details, and schedules;
  • Coordinating structural modeling and design elements on multidiscipline project teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Piping/Utilities including assisting in utility routing;
  • Coordinating design input and completing markups;
  • Initial REVIT model setup;
  • Conducting field inspections and verifications.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of structural/architectural design/detailing experience with commercial, industrial, or institutional projects;
  • Proficiency and verifiable professional experience with Revit Structure and AutoCAD;
  • Experience with Navisworks or similar multi-discipline clash detection, model review platforms;
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible and adaptable to ever changing project requirements and timelines;
  • Ability to uphold the use of standards and escalate issues in a timely fashion;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight;
  • Experience working with vendors on content download and updates to company standards;
  • Experience supporting linked views and others in multiple model situations;
  • Experience developing fabrication (LOD 400) level drawing packages is a plus.

Travel and working conditions:

  • Work is completed in a newly renovated modern office environment;
  • Limited travel is necessary to support project presentations and site investigations at client sites across Canada; travel is expected to be in the range of 10%- 15% of the time, including occasionally overnight.
